Two new Machin stamps have been produced for Recorded Mail (signed for items). There are 1^st Class and 1^st Class Large stamps in flame colour with a yellow panel at the left inscribed ‘RECORDED SIGNED FOR’ and they were issued on 17^th November. They have the security features as on the normal First and Second Class with the cut out slits and as they have a break in the top and bottom ‘U’, they must be printed by Walsall. The background has the repeating Royal Mail pattern but no changed letters as in booklet, business sheet issues etc. They are self adhesive and are slightly larger than regular 1^st and 1^st Large Machins.
